And even you, Mean Rooster.

How I worried about you while I was gone.

You were worried, too, weren’t you, Annabelle? We don’t like to be apart.

But it’s okay now.

Because I came home to find….

Glad you made it home safe and sound. And that you had a good trip. Even though it was super busy from the sounds of it.

I live in PA. And we go South for Vacations sometimes. And its always flat, busy, and well not as green as where I live. I am always happy to get back home.

Find me a farm in wv with 100 or so acres and I’m there!!! Hubby and I look but have not found it yet. Right now we are in southwestern pa on a farm but dream of a more secluded one in the wv mountains.

I just love Annabelle!!!!

It is almost garden time…Let my boys (alpacas & llama) into my garden spot to “manicure” any weeds…but of course that means my lower branches of my apple tree will also be “manicured”…Glad you are back home safely…enjoy the good life.

Hi Suzanne- i have followed you blog for awhile, since i found out about it on the NPR story. today’s post was too much for me not to say hi…we have some things in common. i am a country lady living in wv, too, but i only have dogs, cats and horses. but my sister in michigan raises jacob sheep. maybe someday i’ll have a little flock.. they are very cool, and you are right that they are more like goats than sheep. she has an amazing ram that she got from an island off the coast of maine, where the flock had lived for years in a pretty much wild state. he’s my favorite. it’s lambing time and they will have around 40 lambs this yera. we have a great pyr, a male, to protect our critters from the coyotes that are really getting to be a problem. he is a pet, though, and we are the flock. your self cleaning post made me laugh out loud because it IS TRUE! none of my other dogs are like him. and sometimes the dirt falls off when he is napping inside…what a mess. and his double dew claws…he looks like he has snow shoes in the winter. anyway, keep writing…it is always enjoyable. your site is great, and your photography is the best. enjoy our wv spring. oh yea…i had a rainbow yesterday, too! my photos weren’t as good, though…the rainbow’s color aren’t as rich as yours.

How I live coming home!
Looks like the chick in the picture is going to be a rooster. Hope for you it’s not, but whenever I have a young chick with a comb that grows so big so fast it’s always turned out to be a roo.
